Tom collins

Tom Collins is one of many Collins style drinks. The origins are a bit fuzzy with claims from England, Australia and America as the point of origin. It is most likley to be named after "Old Tom" brand Gin, then any of the other claims to ints origins.

Taste
A Tom Collins is a fruity yet tangy drink for hot summer days. A tom collins serves best as a drink to sip on and not for getting drunk on.
How to make a Tom Collins
Ingredients
- 1.5oz Gin
- 3/4oz lemon juice
- 2tsp. Sugar syrup
- Soda water (to top)
Garnish
- 1/2 slice of lemon
- 1 maraschino cherry
Procedure
Mix all the ingredients, except the soda water, together, with ice, in the Collins glass and top up with soda water. Perch the slice of lemon on the rim of the glass, add the cherry to the glass. Serve with a long straw.
